Head Field Coordinator
John Paul Huffer
John Paul Huffer is a lifelong Alaskan, born and raised in Eagle River, with Native American roots from the Blackfoot and Little Shell Chippewa tribes of Montana. A devoted family man, John Paul emerged as a leader at a young age, as a multi-sport varsity team captain and advanced to play collegiate football in North Dakota. After college, he returned to Alaska and started a career in education and coaching. For more than 20 years, John Paul has trained hundreds of young athletes to reach their potential and led them to several championships.
His deep dive into health and wellness began with the integration of breath work and contrast therapy into his coaching protocols. A personal tragedy in 2023 inspired John Paul to leave the daily grind of his career in education, and he took the plunge into full-time entrepreneurialism. He is the founding owner of RunTekAKademy and Cold Nature Alaska, and the owner and chief fisherman operator of his family commercial fishing enterprise in Bristol Bay, Alaska. As a certified wellness coach and a pioneer of guided cold training in the Alaskan wilderness, John Paul is as eager as he is well-placed to share his passion, knowledge, and local expertise, as Head Field Coordinator for Cold Club.
